Well friends, I'm out. After three years, I am stepping down as CEO of Words. I've got a wild 12 months ahead of me, thanks to my travel schedule for work and my last year of graduate school. Thankfully, the awesome Dave Tuttle has volunteered to take over this space, so today is not the end of the little project that has come a very long way since it's humble beginnings in April of 2009. I'll still contribute now and then, and I hope you'll all stick around to see the creativity and beautiful work that continues to flow from our talented contributors. Thank you all for 3+ fun years. I look forward to seeing where the project goes from here.

Also, I have to give a welcome shout to Ashley E. Moore, who is joining Words for her first time today. And I also need to say goodbye to Tracy, Kristy, Shanon and Robin, who've both been with the project for quite some time. Thank you all for your beautiful work!

Today's post marks Words' third anniversary and the beginning of our fourth year! Our first word was also "green," way back in April of 2009, so I thought it would be fitting to do it once again. I think this might be one of our biggest posts too! Thank you to our readers (or viewers, I should say) and all the contributors over the years. It's been such a fun, creative project that's evolved quite a bit since the start.

Also, I've had several people asking about an open call for entries lately. Although I'd love to do one again, I just don't have the time right now. I may revisit the idea in late summer though.
